The standout on the menu is, without a doubt, the Butadon Porco, a delectable bowl of rice topped with savory pork. What sets it apart is the tender, perfectly grilled pork that’s been seasoned with a special blend of soy sauce, sugar, and mirin, creating a sweet and salty flavor profile that’s irresistible. It’s served on a bed of fluffy, perfectly steamed rice, making for an incredibly satisfying dish that’s both comforting and flavorful.

  • Tried both the tare ( soy sauce, tokachigawa style) and shio ( salt, Hakodate style ) pork rice. Both are nice. The guy owner is very friendly. He said he is from obihiro, no wonder his pork rice is so nice if not better than obihiro one ( and similar style ). There’s charcoal smell like obihiro one, this made it taste great. There’s no parking lot in front of the shop. U can opt to park at the McDonald at the back, and walk a few mins. Not far. The place is small, but cosy. Very nice design. Toilet is big by Japan standard and clean!

  • Super delicious butadon for about 900-1200 yen without topping. I loved the original taste. This is the taste of Hokkaido that I like. My dad who doesn't normally eat pork loved it. Daily salad was also really fresh and nice. Boss was also very nice, gave me a pig sticker.

  • This butadon place was such a bomb man. The restaurant was decorated in such a good way that it provided a fun and welcoming atmosphere as I entered. It totally represented the owner and his life too as I could see what he has been enjoying in his life. He was so friendly too that I could have a nice conversation with him, especially about baseball. When it comes to the food, it was amazing. The portion was big and pork was cooked perfectly with such a savory seasoning and sauce. I added an egg to it and it was definitely a fitting choice. I cannot forget to mention the very important fact that the price was so reasonable and affordable for a nice meal as this. The owner was so kind me even at the end as he gave me some stickers as gifts and souvenirs. There is definitely a reason why this restaurant is rated so highly and I recommend it to everyone indeed.

  • This place was fantastic! We had a great time talking with the owner after our meal. He is originally from Obihiro and makes a great Butadon! Will definitely be back! Update: the photo was added on our second trip! The garlic butter butadon was intensely buttery!

  • The owner of this restaurant is so friendly. The food is very delicious. The pork are perfectly cooked and also the source is very impressive. The only thing is that the restaurant is a bit small so maybe hard to find but anyway if I have a Hakodate trip again, I’ll go there for sure.

  • Hidden gem eating place. Their Butadon is quite good. The location is a sport cafe as well, but the space is not quite big.

  • Dinner here has been so interesting and refreshing. The restaurant is so uniquely decorated with variety of artifacts and exhibits. It is tucked in one quiet corner of a lane and the simple looking wooden door can be easily missed. Need to climb a nsrrow flight of stairs to reach the restaurant. Ordered the slice pork original with salad topped up with a poached egg and miso soup. So so delicious....highly recommended place for butadon.
